Jerson Llaniguez Gabo a.k.a. “Jerry Llaniguez Gabo”, is a self-taught Visual Artist. An Abstract Realist born and raised in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. A frustrated fine arts student, stricken with poverty and being brought up in a broken home, hindered him from earning a College Degree. That forced him to work at a young age. He uses his spare time to practice and make extra earnings through commissioned artworks. As he expanded his knowledge as an artist with art history books and the Internet as his meager resource, he found the admirable works of Constable, Sargent, and Monet, inspiring him to create his own style and stroke. With this passion, he earned respect from his fellow contemporary artists both local and international.
He also engaged in workshop training, encouraged young enthusiasts, and founded the local art group, “Palawan Visual Artists”. A growing art group all over Palawan. He stands as the Senior Artist Advisor of Guhit Pinas - Palawan Chapter. A social media art group that brought and encouraged young artists to awareness, enhancement, and exploration of the art inside them. His artworks have been brought to other countries, treasured by foreigner collectors from Asia, America, and Europe. He topped several prestigious art competitions in various art festivals locally. He led the Palawan Visual Artist and the GUHIT PINAS - Palawan Chapter to join the Borneo Arts Festival from 2017-2019 and was invited to be one of the judges in the open categories of the competition.
Recently, on his visit to Taguig. He founded another art group namely, “Tenement Visual Artists”. Collective individuals organized to form a team of artists, manpower, and the Tahanan executive dept.
Life is an art form in and of itself. We refer to it as life, and we immortalize ourselves on various mediums - as individuals, in our communication, on paper, canvas, stone, and so on. The expressions we create serve as the imprints of our signature and reflect our own personalities. That's why, at times, we choose to either conceal or reveal our emotions through our choice of colors, whether in dark hues or bright lights. Our brushstrokes define our sensitivities and temperaments, and our chosen themes reflect our focus and goals. Let us paint with the freedom of expression and be sure to put our soul into it.
